The award for the most copied car ever made would have to go to the Shelby Cobra hands down. There are over 200 manufacturers today who
are making fiberglass copies of the infamous legend...even Shelby American has a fiberglass copy. In the beginning, around 1962...Carroll Shelby & the Ford Motor Company cut
a deal w/AC Cars from the UK to produce an alloy bodied Bristol w/a 289 small block stuffed inside it's tiny engine bay...voila ! The Shelby Cobra was born ! In 1980, the
original factory started producing this Mark IV series. The bodies, as on the original series, were made from hand formed Aluminum. The interiors were made from the best
Leathers & Wilton Wool Carpeting. The Mark IV's were all wide bodied versions that normally had a 427, but these were made in the 80's thru the early 90's & had Ford 302
motors tuned to perform as well as anything could in the 80's. This example, serial # AK 1385 is a very late US Spec'd Mark IV that was special ordered in Jaguar Racing
Green w/matching full Green leather w/many factory options...most importantly this Mark IV was ordered w/a factory Supercharger & a front alloy bonnet w/a broad molded
in air intake to accommodate the Supercharger. It is also 1 of only about 50 made that were "Lightweight" versions having such build updates as a "Short Nose" on a
lightweight front clip, highly modified 420 HP upgrade, 5 Spd.Tremec TR-3550, Salisbury Limited slip differential w/3.31:1 gears, revised straight across dash design.
Also included w/this Lightweight package were GT-40 heads, Locking Monza Fuel filler, Roll Hoop, 16 Halibrand wheels w/knock-offs & many other Mark III features.
Having only a mere 5450 original miles w/full owner history & documentation from new, this is one bad ass Cobra that already has a place in the history of the Shelby
Legacy. In the Shelby Registry book, all of these Autokrafts are documented by serial # & these Mark IV's are far more accepted across Europe, where they are given far
more respect than a newer Cobra that is now made in Las Vegas. This one is near flawless & will blow your mind once your right foot hits the floor...please contact us
for all correct history, details & special options. I will be happy to fax any info & details requested.
